Men's Todd and Turner Mugs

We start the week with a fabulous victory for Tony Cater and Stuart Pearce who scored 44 points in the Men's Todd and Turner Mugs, played on Sunday. As Stuart said on Facebook "nice sweet victory in the Todd and Turner Mugs, mainly thanks to my partner Tony who had 4 birdies, sorry I only got one and parred the last to seal victory over that dastardly and muttley partnership of Jason Dexter and Jamie Gough". The pair came second with 42 points. Mike Haylett and Richard Reynolds came third with 41 points.

Mid-week Stableford

Next we move on to last Thursday's Mid-week Stableford and on a gorgeous autumn day Steven Hall won division one with 42 points, second came Richard Smart with 41 on countback from Ron Clayton also with 41 points. In division two scoring was even better with Steven Bowles winning with a fabulous 45 points. Carl Ford came second with 42 and John Barker led home a trio of players on 40 points including Mel Walsh and Geoff Hall.

Ladies Divisional Medal

Yesterday, Wednesday, the ladies played their Divisional Medal and a special mention goes to Lesley Court who won overall and division three with a nett 74 and got her handicap cut. Well done Lesley really pleased for you and great to see you enjoying your golf again, I hope! Chris Knappett won division one with a nett 75 followed by Heather Harvey and Jackie Walsh both with a nett 77. Lady President, June Elliot, won division two with a nett 79 with Sheena Emrick and Maureen Ducket second. Second to Lesley in division two was Lisa Gillings followed by Rosemary Hodgkin in third, keep making those confident swings Rosemary!

 

Eaton Pro-Am

Back to my golf now and the Eaton Pro-Am played last Friday. I'm afraid it was a bit of a re-occurring theme this autumn in which I have played really well tee to green, in fact I can't remember the last time I hit my irons so well and close, but the putter remains stone cold so I only shot 75 despite hitting 14 greens in regulation. Frustrating to say the least! The team played well, especially Angus Smith, but Mark the Captain, once he arrived, played well in places as did Barry Collingwood but we faded at the end and that probably cost us. As always the company was very enjoyable but it was one of those that might have been. On to Great Yarmouth and Caister on Friday for the last Pro-Am of the year with Angus, David Wooden and Arthur Fellingham and if my putter hots up you never know!

 

Christmas at the pro shop!
