Men's Thursday Winter Mid-week Stableford
We start this week with the return of the Men's Thursday Winter Mid-week Stableford which featured a great turnout of 76 players playing. Arthur Fellingham won division one with a superb total of 41 points with Glen Harman second with 35 points on countback from Martin Pestle and Les Dukes. In division two my man Wayman Arundle won again with 40 points. It's worth remembering Wayman was on the verge of giving up in the summer but a little push in the right direction with a couple of lessons from myself was all Wayman needed to reignite his love for the game again and we've all seen what that has done to his handicap! So anyone losing the love for the game please come and see me before you take drastic action and consign those clubs to the bin! Back to the Stableford and Dave Parson came second in division two with 38 points and Peter Aldred took third with 37 points.
Men's Roll-up Stableford
On Sunday we had the first Men's Roll-up Stableford which was supported by 20 players on a horrible Sunday. For those who don't know, the Sunday Roll-Up Stableford is as the name suggests, you just turn up, pay your money in the shop, collect your card and away you go and play. There is no tee time booking or pay before the day so if you don't fancy it you don't have to play in it. Anyway the tinker man, Brendan Gough, god knows how many putters I've re-griped, cut down, lengthened for him but he seems to have found a method that worked as he won with 38 points on a tough day. Ian Root came second with 35 points, seems his lesson is starting to pay off and in third came Andy Dyson with 33 points. The next Roll-up Stableford will be on Sunday, 27 December where there will be a roll over twos pot as no one managed to record one on Sunday.
Friday Night Golf
We've got our first entries for Friday Night Golf and they are due to play on Friday, 11 December. Please try and support this event as it should be great fun (why wouldn't it be, golf, beer, warmth and has to be better than I'm a celebrity) and the more people that play the better the prizes should be. I know this time of year is busy but there are plenty of dates in the New Year as well. The entry list is on the board opposite the committee room.

Swing Zone
It's nice to see the swing zone being used more and more as the weather progressively gets worse, remember members can use the swing zone for just £15 an hour to play or to practice. I'm still doing my lessons on a Wednesday evening through till 8pm, for those at work all week and play at weekends please just give me a call to book as they're proving to be popular. I also still have spaces for my unlimited lesson packages just pop in to discuss if you're interested or click here to send us an email.
Kings Lynn Pro-Am
Ok I can't avoid it, my golf. On Friday I went to Kings Lynn to play in my latest Pro-Am and well what can I say, it didn't go well. Despite the great company of Howard Kellett, Howard Thornton and Martin Bullen, it was one of those days that I just wasn't at the races mentally. No reason why as I love Kings Lynn golf course, I'm in good form, the weather was great and I had such a laugh with my team, but I just couldn't get switched on with my golf and limped home with a nine over par 81. Really disappointing but just one of those days and unfortunately I dragged the team down as they fared a little better. Never mind that's golf and I remain positive for Friday at Eaton and look forward to having Mark the Captain, Angus Smith and Barry Collingwood with me. After Eaton I have one last Pro-Am left for the year at Great Yarmouth and Caister on Friday, 4 December of which I still have spaces if anyone would like to join me?

Glove warning According to FootJoy, a worrying 50% of you are playing golf in a glove that’s too big for you – which will present grip issues. You might be fine, but ask us the question next time you’re about to head out for a round. Can’t do any harm, can it? | learn more |

| PING's Tour Eye jacket is certainly eye-catching, it looks super. There's no shortage of technology involved in its design as well, which you won't necessarily notice. You won't notice because this jacket does not restrict your golf swing, which is a benefit you can't under-estimate. |
| Often, playing at this time of the year can highlight any problems you may be having with distance. The course will be playing longer, but if you're really struggling with getting the yardages you need through your irons set, then Wilson Staff's D200's should be on your try list. |
