Men's Monthly Stableford

As there was no Mid-week Stableford last week we start this week with the Men's Monthly Stableford played on Sunday. Tony Cater won division one with 40 points, a good show of form for Tony as he's playing in my Pro-Am at Sprowston on Friday. Peter Langford in second on 39 points. In division two Martin Farrow won with 41 points, his handicap being cut from 16 to 13 in the process well done Martin thoroughly deserved, second came Colin Beare with 40 points. In division three Alan Leggett won with 35 points on countback from Mervyn Eagle.

Ladies Divisional Stableford

Last Wednesday the ladies had their Divisional Stableford and in division one Pauline Phillips won with 34 points, Terrie Collingwood came in second on 32 and Jayne Standen was third with 30. In division two Marietta Holmes continued her good form by winning with 32 points with Vonnie Thornton second with 29 points on countback from Nelma Jary in third.

A couple of reminders now, first is that golf lessons are available in the swing zone until 8pm on a Wednesday evening now, please book up in advance. Secondly, as a special offer you can now use the swing zone for either practice or play for only £15 (normally £25) an hour until the end of November.

Keep warm this winter at Gorleston!

In pro shop news, on those cold winter days you can now get coffee, tea and hot chocolate from the pro shop to takeaway on to the course before and during rounds. Coffee and hot chocolate are £1 with cups of tea 90p (hot drinks will not be available from the shop when the half way hut is open and are only for the golf course).

Finally please remember just because I haven't got an item in stock in the shop that doesn't mean I can't get it for you. As you have seen from the newsletters I am a member of Foremost which means I have access to most brands in golf so please ask.
