FedEx Cup
Elsewhere we saw Jordan Spieth show he is undoubtedly the best player in the world at the minute by winning the PGA Tours Tour Championship and with it a cool $10 million for winning the FedEx Cup. Jordan just goes to show how a fantastic short game coupled with a brilliant mindset (echoes of Tiger in his prime) is the best recipe for success at this game! If you feel you need to improve on any of these areas I'm sure I can help you, so why not click here to book yourself a lesson.
Course News
Out on the course over the last few days you may of seen some blue tee markers out there. These are primarily for the young juniors who I hope to be taking out on the course at various quiet times over the coming months, but also for any new golfers (my get into golfers) that don't feel competent enough to play off the back tees. One of the big discussions about declining player participation numbers in golf at the moment is that surveys say that golf is just too difficult and people haven't got the time these days to put in the required amount of practice to get better. So rather than make the holes bigger, as some have suggested, why not make the courses shorter. I certainly know that when I've played Championship Courses off the back tees I don't nearly enjoy it as much as I do playing off the slightly shorter tees where I have a good chance of making some birdies and shooting a good score rather slugging it out and hitting 3-woods to every par four and scrambling around for pars. So if any of you fancy having a game off the blue tees please feel free, who knows you find it easier and more enjoyable!
Enjoy the rest of the newsletter and have a great weekend.
