Captain/Pro Finals Day
We'll start this week with the Captain/Pro Finals Day results played on Saturday. In total we had 28 pairs taking part in the four ball better ball Stableford. 8 pairs were in the A final, they were those that played in the Matchplay matches against Mark and I, and the rest were in the B final. There was also a beat the pro sweep on the day. In the A final Daniel Crosby and Matt Alp ended up winning by scoring 45 points. They had 41 points on the day but carried over four points from the Matchplay as they beat Mark and I by four holes. Well done to Daniel and Matt, thoroughly deserved as they were also the pair (along with Penny and Paul Platten) that gave Mark and I our biggest defeat in the Matchplay. In second place came Martin and Jonathan Ling with 42 points on countback from Danny Perring and Darren Hellary and Penny and Paul Platten also both with 42 points.
In the B final father and son pair James and Jamie Bool won with a fantastic 47 points, young Jamie playing especially well by all accounts, in second place came Rob Allen and Gareth Brown with 38 points with Ray Thompson and Simon Hellary third with 37 points.
In the beat the pro sweep I got 37 points, sorry the captain and I got 37 points (he did contribute a little bit on the back nine) so there were nine pairs that beat us so you all got £5 each added to your pro shop accounts.
Many thanks to all those who took part for your support and I hope you all enjoyed it as much as Mark and I did. Watch this space for more Captain/Pro challenges through the winter inside on the simulator and obviously next year I look forward to playing with Neil when we hope to get a few more matches in as we can start earlier.
