Captain/Pro Finals Day

We start this week with a quick advertisement for the forthcoming Captain/Pro Finals this Saturday, 19 September. There are still spaces left and is this event is open to all club members with a handicap. This is going to be a fourball better ball stableford with a 1.30pm shot gun start. The cost of the event is £10 per person including prizes and a buffet afterwards (£5 for those that played in a match against Mark and I). Mussino Cup

With no Thursday Stableford last week due to the greens maintenance we move straight on to the Sunday's Monthly Medal and Mussino Cup. The monthly medal division one was won by Patrick Greaney with a nett 66 with Bob Richardson second with a nett 68. Martin Farrow won division two also with a nett 66 with Bill Haykin second, on countback, again with a nett 68. Division three was won by Jack Keyzor with a nett 68. The Mussino Cup (a cup competition for 16-28 handicaps) was won, on countback, by Andrew Klein with a nett 68. Well done Andrew another one of my ever growing stable of winners!

Ladies Texas Scramble

Last Wednesday the ladies had a fun Texas Scramble which was won by Rosemary Woodhouse, Penny Platten, Jo Crosswell and Marion Anderson, well done to them.

 

Coaching news...

In coaching news as from today I am starting to do some coaching in the local schools which should boost our junior section. Remember if you have any young, budding golfers, group lessons are on Saturday afternoons at 1pm with individual lessons available any day apart from Mondays. On Saturday, 26 September I am starting a new Get Into Golf four week course so if anyone knows anyone who would like to give golf a try then point them my way as this is a great, inexpensive (£20 for four weeks) way of having a go at golf. Lessons will run from 11am to 12.15pm every Saturday, weather permitting.

Autumn/winter ranges

Finally we move on to shop news and with autumn/winter approaching I have taken stock of some of the new Glenmuir winter range (ladies and men's) and some lovely warm lined trousers from the PING Collection (ladies and men's). I also have due in anytime now the new ProQuip waterproof range (again in both men's and ladies) so please take time to come in to the shop to see these new ranges and get geared up for the colder, wetter, weather!
