Wilson Staff Fitting Day
We'll start this week with the first Fitting Day of the year which will be held with Wilson Staff on Wednesday, 17 May (1:00pm - 5:00pm). Wilson Staff have produced some great equipment this year and are the equipment and clubs that I use and recommend! I use them because they produce a top quality club for slightly less money than the other big brands. This is because Wilson is such a big sports company, mainly in America, that they can demand the best prices of components because of their huge buying power. This year Wilson have produced the new D300 range along with the FG Tour V6 range that I use, but also the Triton driver which was a result of the Apprentice come X Factor type TV show in America called "Driver versus Driver" where Wilson asked the public to design drivers with the winner being put in to production of which the Triton is the result and the results are proving to be massively popular! Details of the driver are below and if anyone would like to book a half hour slot to have any of the latest Wilson equipment fitted, then please let me know here or alternatively if you would just like to try the Wilson range, just pop up the practice ground on the day to try them out.
Wilson Triton Driver
Visible Swing Active Technology - The revolutionary crown feature makes set-up consistent, easy and intuitive. The 1:1 alignment aid, visible both pre-shot and at impact, improves ball striking for improved accuracy, distance and consistency.
Changeable Sole Weights - Thanks to two interchangeable sole plates, one made from carbon fibre and one created from carbon fibre, this driver offers golfers the chance to change the launch and spin rates to match their needs. The 22 gram titanium sole plate is ideal for golfers who need a mid to high laugh, while the 9 gram carbon fibre sole plate creates a lower launch and lower spin.
This Ultimate Customisable Driver Also Features:
- Changeable sole weights.
- 4 Moveable Weights.
- Adjustable Hosel.
- One year guarantee and a Aldila Rogue graphite shaft.
Four Moveable Weights - With four moveable weights (two 2 gram, two 6 gram) that can be placed in 12 unique combination, you will be able to fine tune this driver to find your perfect ball flight. When you change the adjust able weights in the three sole ports, the shot trajectory can be adjusted to be higher or lower or to help draws and fades for the ultimate customisation to complement any golfers swing.
Adjustable Hosel - Green Means Go! One of the smallest, lightest and easiest to use adjustable hosel systems available, Fast Fit technology makes getting the perfect set-up fast and easy. Just a few turns of the wrench, the head does not need to be detached from the shaft, allows access to all six hosel settings. Those settings include three for loft - one strong, standard and one weak - and those same three in a draw configuration for enhanced right-to-left shot shaping.

On The Course...
On to competition news now and we'll start with the first Captain/Pro match to be played this year this afternoon (Thursday) at 4:00pm. For those that need reminding, this an opportunity for all members to challenge the Club Captain, Stuart Low, and I to a 18 hole four ball betterball stableford match off 3/4 handicap. Most of the challenge dates Stuart and I have scheduled are on Thursday evening so that you can still play in the Mid-week Stableford if you would like. Entry is £15 per pair which goes in to all the prizes on finals day which is on, note for the diary, Saturday, 7 October. The result of the challenge match will affect how many points you start with on Finals Day. If you beat us by two points in the match then you will start with a two point head start on Finals Day, but if you lose by two you will start with a two point penalty on the day. Bookings for the challenge matches are coming in fast with bookings now being taken for mid-July, so to avoid disappointment please book ASAP. Tonight we start against Club Vice Captain, Martin Bullen and Seniors' Vice Captain Keith Wright, in what should be an entertaining match.
In other competition news the juniors had a great Sunday afternoon playing a nine hole, four man team, Texas Scramble. We 16 juniors in four teams and it was the team of Chase Taylor, Ashton Cater, Millie Delaney and Harry Peacock that won the day with a gross 37, well done you four, you played some great golf in tough conditions.
On Bank Holiday Monday we had a Mixed Texas Scramble with the results as follows:

Well done to all those that took part on a very blustery, cold day on temporary greens, you truly are superb supportive members!
