Wilson Staff 2017

We'll start this week with shop news and the latest 2017 stock continues to roll in. This week we have seen the arrival of the latest Wilson Staff product including the new D300 series of woods and irons.

The new D300 driver features a fully aerodynamic design using Micro Vortex Generators to reduce the drag force leading to increased clubhead speeds and greater distance. The Right Light Technology, achieved through optimizing the distribution of the driver's limited available mass with a chemically-etched crown and a thin variable face, allows golfers to swing even faster with the same effort. With Fast Fit Technology, green means go! One of the lightest, smallest, fastest and easiest to use adjustable hosel systems featuring six settings, including three draw options to fully optimise your ball flight.

Introducing the new Wilson Staff D300 irons, the D in D300 not only stands for distance, it defines it. The next generation of FLX Face Technology allow for 76% of the face to be completely free from the body, delivering maximum bend and a powerful launch. This ground breaking technology minimizes contact points between the thin face and clubhead for maximum face flex upon impact. With visible technology around the entire face, the Power Holes filled with TE031 Urethane allow the face to flex upon impact for improved feel, with a crisp, pure, recognizable sound for distance and accuracy. Heel and toe weight pods provide a larger sweet spot and more forgiveness. A satin finish on the pods show where the weight is positioned on the exterior of the club head.

We've also seen the arrival of the popular FootJoy Pro/SL shoes. You may have already seen these on the TV as plenty of the Tour Pros are currently styling this model. On The Course...

Ok on to competition news and with an extremely cold week last week, there is not much to report on apart from the brave/mad souls that played in the Local Alliance last week at Gorleston. Home advantage was obviously a big advantage on a tough day on the cliffs with the top four pairings all coming from Gorleston. It was Chris Beare and Owen Derby that won the day with an impressive 44 points in the betterball format, Owen put his impressive form down to his Wilson Staff woolly hat purchased in the shop that morning! Well done gents! In second place came Jim Robinson and David Watson with 42 points. In third came Les Dukes and Mick Soards also with 42 points and in fourth came Greg Carter and Paul Gee with 41 points.

Yesterday the ladies played thier latest Divisional Stableford and the winner of Division One was Heather Harvey (34), second was Christine Knappett (33) and in third was Terrie Collingwood (33). In Division Two first place went to Maureen Duckett (32) and second place went to Rosemary Hodgkin (28). In Division Three first place was Thelma Evans (30) and in second place was Vickie Peake (30).

This weekend's weather looks a lot more promising, so hopefully we will see you all then.
