MOT Your Game
We'll start this week with some shop news and another great offer. This week sees the start of the FREE golf club MOT promotion. The free MOT includes a grip check, including a FREE Golf Pride Grip should they need replacing and a loft and lie check. Just simply bring your clubs in to myself or the team, we will check the grips, get you to hit a couple of balls with your 7-iron to check the lie, put them on or loft machine to check the lofts and then recommend any adjustments we need to make.
No need to book just pop in store.
New Stock
In other shops news we continue to take delivery of 2017 stock and in this week we have received the new Cobra F7 range with the new GPS track your distance technology incorporated in to the F7+ drivers. I had planned to review these and the TaylorMade M series woods this week but, despite the weather, I continue to be busy with lessons and club fittings so unfortunately couldn't fit it in, but hopefully next week this will happen. We also saw the arrival of new Puma clothing range including some great warm, highly breathable 1/4 zip tops along with some sleeveless jackets.
Special Offers
With the arrival of all the 2017 stock, we still have some great 2016 bargains left including:
- Cobra F6+ drivers for £199.
- Cobra F6 drivers for £179.
- Cobra F6 fairways for £129.
- Cobra F6 hybrids for £99.
- Titleist 915 drivers for £249.
- PING G30 drivers for £239.
Junior Competition
In coaching news, thank you to all those who offered to help with the junior nine hole competition on Sunday. I now have enough help providing it it's not too cold and it goes ahead, but I will let you know if not.
On the Course...
In competition news we'll start with last week's Men's Mid-week Stableford where Steve Hall lapped the field to win Division One and overall with 42 points which was five better than anyone else on the day. Second in Division One was Andy Clifford with 35 points. In Division Two Ray Garrord won with 37 points beating Maurice Loomes on countback also with 37 points.
On Saturday we had the latest Men's Roll-up Stableford where Mick Carr returned to form and won with 39 points beating that man again, Ian Harbord, in to second with 37 points.
On Sunday the men had the their Monthly Medal where Junior Captain elect, Jack Butcher, won Division One with a nett 70 and got himself down to a single figure handicap for the first time, well done Jack on all three accounts, thoroughly deserved! Second in Division One came Peter Langford with a nett 71 beating Paul Platten in to third on countback. In Division Two Colin Beare won with a fine nett 67 beating the resurgent Peter Bailey in to second with a nett 68. Clyde Leggett came third with a nett 69. In Division Three Jeff Helmore won with a nett 70.
On Wednesday the ladies went out on a very cold morning and played a Stableford using just 10 clubs. The ever improving Jenny Watson won with a very creditable 27 points with Vera Woolnough coming second with 25 points and Jan Parsons third with 22 points.
