New Product for 2017
In shop news we having some exciting club launches coming up including the new PING i200 irons which I tried out on Tuesday where my first shot with a 7-iron nearly pitched in the hole from 156 yards (see video). The i200 irons replace the i irons and are aimed at the 5-12 handicapper with a smaller head and slight cavity. If you would like to try them please contact me here.
We are also very excited about the launch of the new TaylorMade M family as I am going to stock them in 2017! We've all no doubt seen and heard how good the TaylorMade drivers and woods have been over the last few years with even Tiger and Rory initially going to them when their Nike contracts expired, and I've already got fittings booked in to try them when they are launched on Friday, 27 January. In the meantime I already have in stock an M1 and an M2 from last year at two great prices. The M1 is £299, that's a saving of £130, and the M2 £249, a saving of £80! If you would to book a fitting with either please contact me here.
Other club launches coming soon include the Cobra one length irons, as used by a Cobra staff player Bryson DeChambeau. Each iron will be the same length as the 6-iron with the theory being that nothing in your set up or swing needs to change for each club. I've had a hit with the one length irons and I have to say I was very impressed by them, although the wedge did take some getting used to... We will be having a full demo set coming in for you to try on the course, so if you fancy having a little play with them when they come in, please let me know.
Other launches coming in February include:
If you would like to try any of those, please book a fitting here.
On the Course...
This takes me on nicely to competition news and last Thursday's Mid-week Stableford where David Tungate used his newly fitted PING equipment to great effect to win Division Two with 37 points. Well done David, especially as only the day before he was struggling to get used to his new equipment so we had an hour's lesson, got him swinging the club again rather than hitting the ball, and straight away it made a difference which obviously he continued on the following day. Keep it up David! Runner up to David in Division Two was Tony Cranny with 36 points who beat Lee Whiley on countback. In Division One Steve Hall had a nice return to form and won with 37 points with the in-form Arthur Fellingham in second with 36 points, beating his mate Dave Wooden on countback.
