Tolly Cobbold Team News
We'll start this week with a brilliant win for our Tolly Cobbold team away at Bramford Golf Club on Sunday. The team played fantastically well and won by four holes over the day. The team looked very smart in their Glenmuir logo'd kit kindly sponsored by our Club Vice Captain, Stuart Low's company, Bluelimit Surveys Ltd. The team (pictured) consisted of, left to right, Jack Butcher, Kevin Carter, Kelvin Gillies, Ian Root, Glenn Jermy, Simon Hellery, Steve Hall, Martin Farrow, Andy Clifford and team captain Tony Cater. The team will play the next round against Stowmarket at home on Sunday, 17 July.
Mid-week Stableford
Next we'll move on to last Thursday's Mid-week Stableford and it looks like Rob Allen is over his chipping woes as he won Division One with a fantastic 41 points. Martin Pestle came second with 39 points and Ron Clayton came third with 38 points. In Division Two I'm delighted to say, as until he had a lesson a few weeks ago he was in a real low place with is golf, Ivan Harvey won with 38 points. It's amazing what a little tweak and a boost of confidence can do, keep up the good work and well done Ivan! In second place came Ben Woolnough with 36 points on countback from Bert Van Hengel and Nick Calver.
Havard Cup
On Saturday we had the mixed Havard Cup with Rick Atkinson beating Brendan Gough and Ray Thomson on countback all with nett 71s.
Winn Merchant Salver and Medal
Yesterday (Wednesday) the ladies had their Winn Merchant Salver and Medal where Jan Parsons took the spoils with a nett 73. Linda Jones came second with a nett 74 and Heather Harvey third with a nett 75.
Good luck...
I would like to wish good luck to both our Stenson Sheild Team who are at home to Purdis Heath on Saturday and to Jamie Bool, Jack Butcher and Max Calver who play in the Semi-finals of the County Junior Club Team Championships against Haverhill at Flynn Valley on Sunday. Any support you can lend to either team would be greatly appreciated. Good luck guys!

Captain/Pro Matches
I've got my latest Captain-Pro match tonight, weather permitting, against Daniel Crosby and Chris Duffy which I'm looking forward to as I haven't played much recently and on Monday I'm off to the Oxfordshire for the Foremost Championships, again which I'm really looking forward to as it's somewhere I've not played before. I'll let you know how I get on next week.
