Hello golfers,
We'll start this week a last push for the Titleist ball and wedge fitting afternoon on Monday, 9 May (1pm - 5pm). We have few spaces left so why not come down try the latest Vokey wedges and make sure you are playing the correct ball for your game, under the watchful eye of myself and the Titleist technician, and who knows you might even get a couple of freebies for your efforts! Contact me here to book.
Saturday Roll-up Stableford
Talking of correctly fitted equipment, it brings me nicely on to the winner of the Saturday Roll-up Stableford and a win for Ben Leuty using his brand new, fully fitted, PING Is. Although Ben only scored 36 points it was a great effort with the greens, let's just say, less than perfect. Well done Ben keep up that ball striking and you know that handicap will drop below five. In second place came Mr Chip Rob Allen with 35 points. I say Mr Chip tongue in cheek as Rob has struggled over the last few months with his chipping, but after a couple of short game lessons, that is starting to turn around so well done Rob and keep up the good practice.
Mixed Foursomes
Also on Saturday we had the Mixed Foursomes which was won by Jean and Gerry Eagling winning with 38 points, with Jean playing especially well (according to Jean, but I'm sure Gerry will back her up). So well done Jean and Gerry. In second place came Shelia Sterry and Richard Duckett with 37 points and in third Team Platten with 36 points.
Mixed Am-Am Stableford
On Bank Holiday Monday we had our Mixed Am-Am Stableford with the best two from four players points to score on every hole apart from the par threes when all four scores counted. The winning men's team with 91 points were Malcom Lake, Kevin Shaw, Nick Calver and Justin Nicholls. The winning mixed team, also with 91 points, were Barry and Vicky Peake and Maureen and Richard Duckett. Well done to the two winning teams!
Red, White and Blue Foursome Stableford
On Wednesday the ladies played their fun Red, White and Blue Foursome Stableford where they tee off on the red, white and blue tees in order. Vonnie Thornton and June Elliott won with 41 points with Heather Harvey and Thelma Evans beating Maggie Hart and Penny Platten on countback with 39 points, to second.
