Motocaddy Battery Trade-in
Ok we'll start this week with shop news and two exciting new trade-in offers! First off is the fantastic Motocaddy offer where you can trade-in your old lead acid battery for £25 OFF any brand new lithium battery or a brand new lithium trolley. For those who haven't got a lithium battery and still use lead acid batteries, although lithium batteries are twice the price they can last up to five times longer. Due to environmental reasons you are lucky if lead acid batteries last longer than 15 months these days, whereas a lithium battery has a five year warranty, plus lithium batteries take half the time to charge and are also lighter in weight. I've had my 36 hole lithium battery now for five years and it will still do 36 holes no problem at all and that's despite it being run on all different trolleys when people have forgot theres.

Pro-Ams
Ok next we'll move on to the golf I played last week. On Thursday at Royal Worlington, despite loving the course, I had one of those days on which nothing went right. If you haven't played Worlington before, it's well worth a trip, despite only being 9 holes it is a tough test of golf. At Augusta this week you'll hear all the pros talking about missing the green in the correct places to give them a chance of making a good up and down, well Worlington is much the same, if you miss the green in the wrong spot sometimes it's even difficult to get the ball up and down in three! I, not remembering the course much from when I played before, put it in all the wrong places and struggled to a very disappointing 82 despite not hitting that badly!
However, Friday was a different day and I knew that I actually did not play that badly at Worlington, I just got caught out by not knowing the course well enough. So, I turned up at Swaffham Pro-Am still reasonably confident. I played reasonably solid to shoot a 75 and came fifth, unfortunately the par threes caught me out for some reason and I played those in four over, if not it could of been much better with the winning score only 71 on a very tricky day. My team of Angus Smith, Bob Richardson and Bill Haykin did well and we finished mid-table. Once again gents well played and thanks for joining me!
My weekend...
I'm actually off this weekend, I'm off to watch the mighty Blackburn Rovers on Saturday and then I'm off with the Drifters to Ufford Park on Sunday and Monday for my sins, so have a good weekend and enjoy the Masters!
Men's Mid-week Stableford
Ok on to competition news now and we'll start with last week's Men's Mid-week Stableford and a win in division one for Tony Cater with 39 points armed with his new, fully fitted, Wilson Staff FG Tour F5 driver. In second came Ben Leuty with 38 points on countback from Steve Hall and Martin Farrow. In division two Carl Ford won with 39 points with five players tied for second on 38 points.
Monthly Medal
On Sunday the men had their Monthly Medal and Steven Hall continued his good form by winning division one with a nett 68 on countback from Rick Atkinson and Dave Henwood. Division two was won by Jason Baxter with a nett 69 with Mark Everard second with a nett 70. Samm Bemment won division three with a nett 68 with Barrie Peake second with a nett 71.
Ladies Divisional Medal
On Wednesday the ladies had their latest Divisional Medal and division one was won by Heather Harvey with a nett 73, Victoria Watson won division two with a nett 74 and Maggie Hart won division three with a nett 78. Some of the ladies also played in the mixed match last Saturday against Rookery Park in which Gorleston won five matches to three.
