The new PING G arrives!
We'll start this week with shop news and the arrival of the new PING G equipment for 2016. With its new "Dragon Fly Technology" it has already helped Bubba Watson to win on the USPGA Tour last weekend! That means we can now offer you the very latest PING, Titleist, Mizuno, Cobra and Wilson Staff equipment, which, along with my PGA Qualified, unbiased, club fitting knowledge, can all be custom fit in my state of the art Swing Studio to help you improve and enjoy your game more!

Hunstanton Pro-Am
Next we'll move on to my golf and the Hunstanton Pro-Am played on Tuesday. Despite fantastic weather and the course being in amazing condition (the best I've ever seen any course at this time of year) the golf did not live up to expectations. I had the same old putting problems (made even more frustrating with the greens being perfect) and limped home with a 78. The team of myself, Kevin Stokes, John and Tony Cater didn't do too badly but we had two bad holes that really cost us and scored 139, in the best two from four scores on every hole format, but we all really enjoyed it and well worth the long drive, well done Kev!
The rest of my Pro Am team slots are starting to fill up nicely but I have no one down for my next one on Thursday, 10 March at Weston Park, Norwich, if anyone would like to play? If you haven't played Weston Park it's a beautiful parkland course set in a lovely setting, well worth a trip!

Captain/Pro Challenge
Slots for a the Captain/Pro Challenge are also starting to fill up but don't leave it until the middle of summer to play as Neil and I will be very busy at that point and might not have time to play so best to get in early as you can!
Mid-week Stableford
OK competition news now and we'll start with last week's Thursday's Men's Mid-week Stableford and a win for Brian Rivett with 37 points on countback from Kevin Shaw also with 37. In third place came Mike Haylett with 36 points.
Men's Roll-up Stableford
On Sunday we had 35 players take part in the Men's Roll-up Stableford and Jason Baxter won with 38 points with Colin Beare second with 37 points on countback from Andy Klein and Graham Tovey (the warm up must of done you good G). Stuart Pearce and Daniel Crosby shared the twos money taking home £16 each.
Ladies Divisional Stableford
On Wednesday, 24 February the ladies played their Divisional Stableford in which Terrie Collingwood won Division One with 37 points on countback from Jan Parson. In Division Two, Victoria Watson won with 32 points and in Division Three Terry Wilkinson won with 31 points.
Junior Competition
One more piece of competition news which I forgot to mention last week, the Junior Competition played in half-term on Tuesday, 16 February was won by Max Calver with 38 points.
Junior Coaching Sessions
That brings me on nicely to coaching news and the Saturday afternoon junior coaching session. For those that are here on a Saturday, you would of no doubt noticed how popular the session is becoming, we are regularly getting 15 juniors in one session now. This means that shortly I will be splitting the group in to two. One group for the players who have been coming for a while and the second for the newcomers.
With the group that have been coming to coaching for a while, the next step is to get them on the golf course more often. Consequently Tony Cater (the junior organiser) and I plan to, come the Spring, start running some sessions on the golf course every other Sunday afternoon. For these course sessions we will probably let them play a few holes, but we will need to supervise them so any volunteers that can spare a couple of hours on a Sunday afternoon, say 3pm - 5pm, your help would be greatly appreciated so please let me know and I'll give you some more information.
