Hello golfers,
With the weather continuing to be very wet, the course was unfortunately closed all weekend which put pay to a lot of golf, so this newsletter will be quite brief this week.
Mid-week Stableford
We did, however, manage to get a bit of golf played last week as on Thursday morning 12 members managed to play 18 holes in the Mid-week Stableford before the heavens opened. Paul Gee took home the spoils with a fantastic 44 points followed by Arthur Fellingham in second with 43 points and Mervyn Eagle came third with 42 points.
Friday Night Golf
On Friday we had the latest team to play in the Friday Night Golf Night Texas Scramble Challenge. Mark Allen and his band of merry men recorded a score of 43 (nett 39) on the back nine of The Brabazon course which puts them in a tie for second at the moment. This Friday we have Danny Perring, Josh Manser, Jack Keyzor and Tommy Hunt taking the challenge at 6pm.
Coaching in the Swing Zone
In coaching news I'm really feeling the benefit of the Swing Zone as I continue to be busy despite the weather. In the last seven days I've given three club fittings to members as well as a number of lessons whilst staying nice and dry and warm!
If you are looking to book a lesson or custom fitting in our Swing Zone, please click here to get in touch.
Cash for Clubs
The "Cash for Clubs" promotion has proved very popular with lots of members bringing in their old clubs to put on eBay with the proceeds of the sale going on to their shop account. In fact we have had so many in the last week we are starting to run out of boxes, so if anyone has any we could use we would bee very grateful?
January Sale
The January sale is also going well having sold several items over the last week, so please be sure to pop in and grab yourself a bargain before it's too late!
Social Media
For those on Facebook I have started my own Duncan Abbott of Gorleston Golf Club page so if you would like to keep up with the latest pro shop and club news, please visit and "Like" my page.
OK that's it for this week, as I said not much to report on but fingers crossed there will be plenty more next week, including some big news on coaching programmes for the summer months!
